Welcome to KCYS 2017
Welcoming Remarks from Secretary-General
Greetings.
It is my privilege and honour to welcome you to the 2017 Korea-Central Asia Youth Summit. From the 24th of July to the 29th, 2017, bright minds from Korea and Central Asia will gather to discuss, learn and share.
Korea and Central Asia have been interacting from the days of the Silk Road, and with the launch of Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Secretariat this year, importance of cooperation between both regions will grow ever more. KCYS is a significant event in that over the course of the six days, delegates will learn and discuss about Korea-Central Asia as future experts and policy makers of respective countries.
With three distinct committees and agendas from current affairs, delegates will learn about problems that both regions are facing, and devise a creative resolution to those problems in an inspirational environment. In between discussions, delegates will have chance to understand each other’s culture, and experience the beautiful Jeju Island.
Most important of all, KCYS will provide a chance for young leaders to build lasting friendships and actively exchange ideas, building a solid friendship between both regions from the very foundation.
Throughout the past years, KCYS was the venue for hundreds of delegates from both regions to come together, share knowledge, and be inspired. Welcoming delegates from around the world once again, the Secretariat sincerely wishes that each and every one of participants to have an unforgettable experience.
Welcome, and enjoy.
Sincerely,
SUH, Jaewon
